Friday Favorites: Upcycled Cable Spools and a Beautiful Barn Door

It’s officially fall! Do you have any fun fall projects planned? We have been working on a TON of projects (hooray for having kids in school!) and we have some really awesome things to show off next week during our #PalletsAPlenty week next week! Because next week is all about pallets, this week’s link party with go for TWO weeks (until October 8th), and on Monday, we’ll have a pallets-only link party for you to share your pallet projects — and our favorites will be featured and shared in a post on Saturday, as well as on social media throughout the week. Our favorites this week: a beautiful rolling barn door, DIY pumpkins for decor indoors and out, upcycled cable spools, and more pretty inspiration! @Remodelaholic

Remember, if you want to see your work featured here, you can leave a link (up to 5 different links each week) below at the Remodelaholics Anonymous party, tag #imaremodelaholic on Instagram, drop us a line here to show us your project, or message us over on Facebook.  And now, on to this week’s favorites!

Favorite pumpkins (of the week, ha! tis that season!): Sadie Seasongoods made these adorable pumpkins from bandanas. Oh my CUTE! Easy too, with her tutorial.

and these hexagon DIY pumpkins on Our Home Made Easy‘s porch are such a fun touch! Be sure to check out her whole porch (and watch her blog for the tutorial).

Favorite headboard: I am a big fan of headboards of all shapes and sizes, and I love the look of this simple pallet-style headboard over at Ida Interior Lifestyle.

Favorite easy decor: Printables easily reign in the land of easy decor – and look at this cute fall print from Embellishology!

Favorite cable spool upcycles: As I was finding the best (yes, the BEST) pallet projects to share next week, I ran across these awesome recycled wood spool projects — one turned into a planter, and the other cut in half and used as a bedside table! (original image sources unknown, so if you know let me know!)

Favorite curb appeal update: This brick foundation that My Sweet Cottage added to her greenhouse foundation looks stunning! Be sure to check out the finished look on her blog.

Favorite laundry room: I really just can’t go a single week without a pretty laundry room. Those who can, do –and those who can’t (because of the teeny tiny laundry room situation) live vicariously through lucky folks like Twelve on Main, who has a gorgeous laundry room and some awesome DIY skills — those laundry baskets are handmade!

Favorite gotta-try-that: Doesn’t this sunflower maze look amazing? It was at the entrance of the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam last year — all I can think of is how much more fun a sunflower labyrinth would be than a corn maze 😉 (image sources: 1 // 2, photo Jan Kees Steenman // 3)

Favorite door: I shared this door over on Instagram and on Facebook, and you loved it as much as I did! It’s from an open house by Millhaven Homes that I attended last week, and it’s perfect example of a non-rustic barn door — just because it slides like a barn door doesn’t mean it has to have that traditional barn door look! PS: Be sure to check out this post with a bunch of DIY barn doors plus hardware you can DIY or options purchase at a great price!

Update: The folks at Millhaven Homes were able to give us some info about this gorgeous door, for those who have asked. The door was purchased at Columbia Millworks in Lindon, UT. (For specs, reference the Schow job in Pleasant Grove.)

She believes that planning projects and actually completing them are two different hobbies, but that doesn't stop her from planning at least a dozen projects at any given time. She spends her free time creating memories with her husband and 5 kids, traveling as far as she can afford, and partaking of books in any form available.
