Are you ready to call your travel agent and book a resort vacation?! Well how about bringing the resort to you? All these images of tranquil outdoor spaces have inspired me to bring in a little cabana style to my outdoor space.
Create Cabana Style In Your Own Backyard
Cabanas differ a little from ordinary patios. They feel much more luxurious. Much more tranquil. Much more cozy.
They require some sort of overhead structure, weather it be a pergola or a canvas tent. They must ALWAYS have curtains. There really is nothing on earth more soothing than soft white curtains blowing in the breeze. Cozy outdoor couches or lounges are a must. And lets not forget the soft carpet underfoot. Top it off with a fan, lanterns, LOTS of greenery and some mood lighting, and we, my friends, have ourselves our very own cabana. All we need now is a waiter and a pool boy. But that’s another post entirely 🙂
In the meantime, I will be repainting my outdoor pergola, adding a new rug , some throw pillows and more greenery just so I can close my eyes and dream that I am somewhere poolside in the tropics listening to a steel drum band. Just for a few minutes anyways until one of my kids starts screaming “Mom!”
