A Black, White and Gold Christmas

It’s Day 3 of our Black and Gold Christmas! Check out all of the posts here, and get plenty of other Christmasy ideas from our other 12 Days of Christmas posts in the archives. Sarah is here today with some gorgeous inspiration that will have you bringing home the gold (decorations).

Hey everyone! I’m Sarah from Just The Bees Knees here to share an inspiring holiday mood board with you today!! The Christmas season is my absolute favorite time of year. Theres something so special and nostalgic about the smell of fresh pine trees, twinkling lights and cozy nights spent by the fireplace. The fun part about decorating for Christmas is you can change it up every year to create an entirely different look to your holiday decor. Last year I shared ideas on incorporating non traditional holiday colors such as hot pink into your decor. This year I’m toning it back and going for a more simplistic pallet of white, black and gold.

This color combination is very glamorous and elegant! Lets take a look at a few interiors that nailed the black, white and gold look for the holidays!

There’s just something so sophisticated about black white and gold for Christmas!! If you want to bring this pallette into your home for the holidays, the mantle is a great place to start. I realize that it’s not in everyone’s budget to go out and purchase all new holiday decorations to create anew theme every year…I know I can’t afford to do that!! Start by shopping your house. See what accessories you have in the palette you want to work with, and start there! If you have a bold black and white rug, pull it into the space. Move in a white chair, or plaid blanket you use for those summer camping trips! Then splurge on a few extras such as new stockings or some gold ornaments.

Some things to keep in mind…When you are working with a neutral palette, texture.is.key. Make sure to throw in some faux fur or sheepskin for a warm and cozy feel. Natural woods and pine garlands are a great compliment to the black, white and gold look.

My mood board represents my ideal black, white & gold Christmas; a mix of woodland and mid-century modern with a touch of glitz! What would yours look like? More glam? More rustic?

  1. That leopard pillow ends up working perfectly with a black white and gold Christmas! So awesome. I also love the stockings in all of the images, especially the black and white ones in the fourth image. A nice change of pace from the usual red and white stockings.
