DIY All Natural Bathroom Cleaner
You will need 1 1/2 cups of water, 2 tablespoons of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of castille soap, 15 drops Orange Essential Oils, and 15 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oils (Melaleuca) and a spray bottle.
Instead of mixing the ingredients together in a spray bottle, I like to mix them in a bowl.
Use a whisk to make sure the ingredients are mixed really well, then pour into your spray bottle.
Now, clean your bathroom…or, hey, let your kiddos do it…it’s chemical free after all! The orange essential oils help lift any gunk or stains and the tea tree oil is an amazing all natural disinfectant that will help kill the germs! I don’t use anything else when cleaning my bathroom any more, and it’s as clean as a whistle!
This is just one of the many Homemade Cleansers that I make on my own. You can find the rest of them along with How To Clean In Between The Glass Doors Of Your Oven HERE!

Just curious…does the spray nozzle get clogged from the baking soda?
Hi, Trish! No…it won’t clog the nozzle. It dissolves pretty quickly when you make the spray! ~Jessica
Hi there~
Thank you for this post. I, too, am loving my oils, and I am working on reducing my family’s exposure to chemicals. Do you mind sharing where you found your cute spray bottle and labels please? Thanks:)
Of course, Kristen! Here is the link to the ones that I use… https://www.amazon.com/Soft-Style-Clear-Spray-Bottle/dp/B000NJE0PO/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1424638317&sr=8-6&keywords=spray+bottles
Thank you so much! Do you get your labels on Amazon as well?
I actually bought the labels at Michaels Craft Store, but am going to be posting ones that you can just print off on my blog tomorrow!
Thank you so much! Do you get your cute labels off Amazon as well?
Is using essential oils in a plastic bottle OK? I’ve always thought that the oils would deteriorate the plastic by eating away/dissolving it.
Technically, you are supposed to use a glass bottle with citrus oils, but the truth is…I never do and haven’t ever had a problem. xoxo ~Jessica
Hi – Just wanted to caution you on letting your kids use this product. Just because something is naturally derived doesn’t mean it’s non-toxic. Tea Tree oil has been clinically shown to be an effective anti-microbial but can also be toxic to kids if swallowed and to pets if they get it on their skin. Also, Orange oil contains d-limonene which is a skin sensitizer in about 3% of the population so you would want to avoid getting it on your hands.
HI! This recipe sounds great. Do you think it would work as an all purpose cleaner instead of just bathroom cleaner? Or what do you do for your kitchen cleaner?
Thank you!
Rachel
I’m brand new to your site. I can almost smell the fantastis aromas the essential oils infuse in the home. I was wondering if I could use plastice containers for the products.I see most of yours are in glass. Do you have a template for the labels? In addition, I thought it would be a good idea to put the recipe on the label to make it easy to make refills.
Does the baking soda in the mix leave a residue after cleaning?
Do you have to rinse?
Can you keep the solution from one cleaning to another, or should it be freshly mixed before each use?
Thank you.
I don’t have any orange essential oil but I do have lemon. Would that work just as well?
