Complete DIY Master Bathroom Remodel!!!

Complete DIY Master Bathroom Remodel

Hi, I’m Ronda from Batchelors Way.
I’m so honored to be guest posting on Remodelacholic.

I’m a stay at home mom to six talented and cute kids.
They range from 6 to 16.
They keep me busy.  But I still find time to do what I love and that’s design and decorate.
I have always seem to have a limited budget.
(Don’t we all?)
So I love to use my creative juices and find ways to do things for less, way less!

My most recent project was our master bathroom for around $1200.
Here is the
Before

And the
After

We added a light over the tub.

Cut into the wall and built our own Medicine cabinet from scratch.

We even cut old used mirrors to put in the medicine cabinet doors!
I said I was cheap!

We added architectural details like bead board, and trimming out the window.

All the trim below we used above our bathroom window
It’s all used materials from the Restore.

We ripped up the old floor and tiled.

We found these used doors at the Restore, stripped them, sanded them, and fixed them up.

Added some great used knobs and legs.

Built our own custom cabinet.

Here’s the final product.
Bye, bye blue doors.

I love the details.
But again almost everything I accessorize with is second hand.

That’s how it all turned out.
Thanks Cassity for letting me show your viewers my bathroom!

    1. I can’t answer for the author, but I have had bead board in a bathroom in my first house with no problems. You just want to make sure you paint it and caulk the butted seams!

  2. Love the cabinet idea!!!! And really love the RESTORE!!!! I am getting ready to remodel my bathroom and will definitely keep this cabinet in mind. Thanks.

  3. Love this bathroom – especially the shelves over the toilet…..I was thinking of just putting up boring old white floating shelves but not anymore! Great idea!

  4. Absolutely gorgeous! Unbelievable—all for $1200! Love the little touches—the little bathroom scale nook is such a cute idea. What is the blue/aqua paint color?

    1. Grace, that is a great question. It would be best if you would ask Batchelors Way. Follow the link at the top of the post. Thanks!

  5. I love your new bathroom, especially your faucets since I chose the same ones when we remodeled our master bath. Just wanted to let everyone know that our local building codes don’t allow chandeliers or anything but a fully enclosed fixture over the tub or shower. No pretty fixtures allowed.

  6. Love this redo… Please share brand name and color of the aqua paint on the walls. Also, where did you purchase the bead board? Was it chair rail height or a 4’x8′ panel?
    Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hi Sharlene – Ronda used an oops paint she found, but she says that a close color match is Blue Shamrock by Olympic. This is also similar to Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore and Wedgewood Gray by Sherwin Williams.

She also said the paint formula was Yellow oxide 36, Thalo blue 25, Brown oxide 22 — which may or may not actually be accurate since it was a mis-mixed can of paint.

Here’s a link to our spotlight on Wythe Blue if you want to see more of that color: https://www.remodelaholic.com/color-spotlight-wythe-blue-from-benjamin-moore/
