Seriously, how many times have you heard someone mock a giant purple sofa or lament about the shade of purple on the walls before a makeover? The reality is that purple can be a difficult color to work with, but if done right, purple can be a royal hue that looks amazing. My husband and I painted our living room purple! We used Valspar’s Dusty Lavender on top and Regal Plum on the bottom, separated by a white chair rail. The high-gloss white trim all around really makes it pop. Three years later, we still adore the colors! Finding a nice, inexpensive rug to go in the room has been tricky, though.
I think Ballard Designs has some purple items right now… and overstock is a great place for affordable rugs! GOOD LUCK!

We have been trying all day to find the purple that was used to paint the built-ins up above? We tried Sherwin Williams, Home Depot and looked on tons of websites to match it? Can you tell me what color and what store you found this paint please? Thank you so much!
Hi Stacie! These aren’t our built-ins, just an inspiration image, so I’m afraid I can’t help with the color. Have you tried the Sherwin-Williams Chip It tool? You can use an image and it will pull out the colors in it.
Are you talking about the LCH shelving called Aubergine?
I was also looking for that exact colour and it’s not in my BM deck…most deep magenta’s/purples have too much white in it…I would love to know the brand if anyone finds out!
