Best Paint Colors for Your Home: LIGHT BLUES
It’s time for another edition of Remodelaholic’s Color Files. Today, I’m featuring some of the best paint colors for walls and furnishings that are in the lightest shades of blue. Blue is one of nature’s favorite colors, appearing more in the great outdoors than any other color.
Blue is the ultimate “cool” color when it comes to color temperatures. Light blue is considered to be one of the most calming colors, making it a favorite for bedrooms. It’s also a color that marketing gurus have determined to be the one that gives the best impression of being clean, which means it’s a great choice for hardworking rooms like kitchens, laundry rooms, and bathrooms. Some of the very lightest shades of blue are considered to be neutrals in home décor, since these work really well paired up with just about any other color. And light blue is one of those pale colors that, when painted on the walls, can actually make small rooms look bigger.
I hope you’ll find some inspiration in this collection of light blue paint colors being used in real rooms. Already got a favorite hue of baby blue? Share it with us in the comments!

I think if you’re really not sure what color to choose for your home, light blue is an excellent choice! Be careful not to make it too light otherwise it’ll look like a nursery (unless you want that) but these gorgeous, light muted blues are perfect.
Thanks for posting these. I love blue and I plan to use it in decorating my coastal condo. Thanks for the room ideas too.
Good! I am so glad it is helpful! Good luck with your home!

Blue is one of my favorite colors to decorate with. I have my living and family rooms painted a light blue and they look airy, cheery, and bright.
This is the most helpful discussion of SW light blues I have found. Thank you. Trying to figure out what level of saturation works w light natural maple cabinets and white granite countertops. Advice appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment, Alys! If you’ll message us your question and a photo of your kitchen, we’d be happy to post on Facebook for our readers there to share their experiences and advice. https://www.facebook.com/Remodelaholic
Is there anyway to find out where the bench in the foyer picture is from in your post about light blue colors? I have been looking for that style for awhile. Just thought I would take a chance and ask. Any help would be appreciated!!!
