Home Tour: Exquisite Traditional Home with Pops of Glam and Color
It’s that time again where we get to take you on a photo tour of another fabulous parade home! (Every month, we feature a Parade of Homes home hat caught our attention and that we think you’ll love, too!) It’s finally spring and as color outside begins to emerge, we continue our Home Tour Series with a gorgeous traditional home where the designer so tastefully infused colorful decor and some gold glam elements as well. It’s not at all overdone, and very classy, and we are in love!
Glamorous Colorful Traditional Home Tour
This exquisite traditional home with pops of color and tasteful glam decor is built by Shelby Homes and designed by Gatehouse #1 Furniture and Design, and was featured in the 2018 Utah Valley Parade of Homes. While more of a traditional home overall, the design uses glam elements to rev up the space and create energy and vibrance. Rarely do we see a home that flows so well from space to space. Each room has particular features (like moldings, paint, lighting and, hardware) that compliments the other rooms seamlessly. And, bonus! Pops of color will thrill our color-seeking readers!

Neutral Elegant Living Room
Walking in the front door, we are greeted by an elegant living area. Sliding doors section-off this room, creating a private retreat for music, reading, or conversation. With touches of glam and bold pops of color, we feel energized, yet not overpowered. Also, we love the soft texture of the gold leg ottomans, that amazing floral mirror, and the grand chandelier. Modern White Kitchen
Similarly, the kitchen is a work of art. The custom cabinetry has unique glass doors and pretty pulls. Large globe light pendants create an interesting visual impact. Another fun feature is the backsplash tile, laid in a herringbone pattern. The arched window is flanked by pretty gold sconces while touches of greenery add an earthy, organic touch.
Golden Glam Master Suite
Onto the master bedroom we go. This suite has a warmer tone due to those touches of gold with a pretty harmony of blush and camel. The pendant chandelier and its crystals adds a luxurious feel. The space is so large, we even see a loveseat for sitting! Windows abound, bringing in that much-craved natural light. Certainly, the simple decor enhances this calming oasis. The blush pink throw pillows are a soft touch.
Modern Craft Room & Home Office
One of the most unique rooms in this house is the SHE craft/office!!! Besides the wallpaper (which coordinates beautifully with the light fixture), a bold pink chair brings the perfect feminine flair! Ample cabinet storage and drawers keep the space uncluttered and organized. It wouldn’t take much to persuade us to spend some time here!
Shared Girls’ Bedroom
But, let’s not forget the littles! The design in this home is superb and the kids’ rooms are no exception! What do you think of that gold quatrefoil-inspired chandelier? We love it. The burgundy and white bedding is classic and ageless. Finally, this space includes built-in shelving and a pretty window seat!
Playroom with Indoor Playhouse (Two-Story!)
Lastly, we had to share a quick glimpse of the playroom. Isn’t this two-story indoor playhouse darling? The facade even has lanterns and flower boxes! Adding some pink kids’ chairs, a pink rug, and textured poufs brings this space to life. What child wouldn’t be enchanted?
What we love about this colorful traditional home and decor:
While most of us can only dream of spaces this large and beautifully well-designed, we can easily incorporate some of these ideas into our own homes. This home shows that less ornamentation still creates a homey and personalized environment. Simple artwork and small accessories make for pretty spaces! And, if you’re one that loves a bit of glam and pops of color, this home might call to you.

I love that they started with the base palette of light grays and whites and then added texture and interest through accent walls, wallpaper, and herringbone tiles. I love a white house, but you always have to be careful to add some character so that it doesn’t feel too stale!
I love the Pops of Colors living room. I would love to purchase as many of the look-a likes in the room for my living room. I was wondering about the round end table? Would you happen to remember where that particular table was purchased? It is the perfect table for my living room. Great job on all the other rooms. I loved the tour! Thank you so much.
