Home Sweet Home on a Budget: Dining Room Features and Kitchen Inspiration

Happy Weekend, everyone!  This is Ruth from A House in Holland, coming back to share some of the beautiful and budget friendly dining rooms from last week’s Dining Room linkup.   If you haven’t already, click that link to go check out the amazing ideas that bloggers like you shared for sprucing up their dining rooms.  It was hard to choose just a few to share with you today, but I have to admit–the following dining rooms really caught my attention.

Pretty slipcovers dress up dated dining chairs at Common Ground.

This colorful gallery wall is just one of the things I love about Eclectically Vintage‘s dining room.  Click over and check out the gorgeous plate wall, too.

Soul Style saw the incredible possibilities in a garage sale lantern, brought it home, and transformed it into this gorgeous showpiece for her dining room.

Something about this pretty vignette on the dining room shelf at The Corson Cottage is really appealing to me–it just looks so peaceful.

Another lovely vignette around this vintage sideboard at The Ironstone Nest.  Check out the before and after pics of this dining room, because it has been quite a makeover.

Aren’t those fantastic dining rooms?  Thanks to everyone who linked up last week, and shared their creative and thrifty ideas for dining room updates and decor.

Moving on, now that we’re well into the month of July, it’s time to focus on a new room:  the kitchen!  A kitchen’s work is never done, so it’s totally okay to keep looking for ways to update, organize, or otherwise improve the looks of this hardworking room.  Here are a few of my favorite kitchens that I keep tucked away in my idea files:

What can I say?  I’m a sucker for vintage appliances.

There are so many things I love about this kitchen:  the exciting colors mixed with warm woods, the ruffly lights over the bar, and the green barstools.

{Country Living}

I like how the original cabinetry and countertops were preserved in this kitchen remodel.  It’s got a retro vibe with simple beauty.

{Apartment Therapy}

This kitchen is small but mighty.  I heart the cork floors.

Can you believe this island?  I love the look of that old, antique dresser turned island against the fresh white cabinetry.  And the blue vintage stove?  It’s killing me.

Thanks again to all those who linked up their dining rooms last week.  I can’t wait to see what you show off in the kitchen linkup later this month.
