Color Spotlight: Benjamin Moore Hale Navy

See why Benjamin Moore Hale Navy is a trifecta perfect paint color, to work in almost any space, interior or exterior.

Hi Remodelaholics, it’s Cyndy from The Creativity Exchange back with my monthly paint color post.  If you happened to miss my post from last month, you can find my Color Spotlight highlighting the very versatile “Intense White” from Benjamin Moore here.

For this month, I wanted to do another spotlight highlighting a color that is rapidly becoming one of the most popular paint colors out there right now; Hale Navy from Benjamin Moore:

Beautiful navy blue - the perfect balanced paint color and it looks gorgeous!

Benjamin Moore Hale Navy is an all-star paint color and the most popular navy by far.  The reason for this is that no other navy comes even close to being as versatile, beautiful and dependable as Hale Navy. I call it a “trifecta” color because 1) it works in almost any lighting situation, 2) it’s a transitional color (near perfect mix of cool and warm tones) and 3) it always looks stunning no matter where it’s used (walls, furniture or exterior).

There are very few colors out there that I consider trifecta colors but Hale Navy is at the top of my list for sure!

BM Hale Navy looks amazing in almost any room

Beautiful navy home office and built-ins

Hale Navy is a stunning interior wall color and because it has a near perfect balance of warm and cool undertones, it mixes effortlessly with any color trim, home decor and wood/tile/carpet flooring undertones;

Hale Navy is also one of the most popular furniture paint colors and we’re also seeing it used a lot for kitchen/bathroom cabinetry:

Gorgeous bright kitchen with a dark blue island, great color!

I have mentioned this in many of my past posts before but a sure sign that a paint color is versatile and works well in a variety of lighting situations is the by the exterior test. If a color works well on the exterior of home, as well as the interior, it’s the best sign that it’s going to be a great versatile color:

This is my favorite home exterior color!

I can’t do this post without telling you that Hale Navy is a very dark color. Many of these rooms featured today have a lot of natural light, which helps in keeping the color from looking to dark.  However, if you are interested in using Hale Navy but do not have a lot of natural light in the room you’re considering, think about using Hale Navy just on one accent wall to keep the room lighter:

A dark navy accent wall looks great even in a room without as much natural light. This color is so perfect and goes with virtually any trim or flooring colors.

A navy wall above chair rail wainscoting is gorgeous! This paint color is lovely, and it looks great with pretty much any trim or flooring color, and metal tones, too!

So as you can see, Hale Navy is a paint color workhorse and if you’re looking for the perfect navy, it really doesn’t get much better than this.  As always, be safe and paint a sample of a color onto poster board to test to make sure that a color is for you.  (More tricks for testing and choosing colors here.) While Hale Navy is versatile, lighting does have an impact on all colors and it’s better to make sure ahead of time that this is color you’re looking for.
