9 Ideas for Bath Time Fun
1. Paint in the bath!
Show your kids how to make homemade bath paint with cornstarch, baby shampoo, and food coloring in a muffin tin. When the paint is ready, have them paint all over the tub (and their bodies) with their artistic creations. For even more painting fun, don’t fill the tub with water until after your kids are done painting!

2. Create a glowing bath.

3. Play with spray bottles.
Fill up spray bottles with colored and scented water and set up suction toys around the tub for your kids to aim at. Hand them the spray bottles and let them spray away! They’ll practice their hand muscles while having fun and you could discuss colors and smells with them while they play.
4. Watch dinosaurs hatch from eggs!
Bath bombs are cool little experiments that you can make with baking soda, oil, citric acid, and food coloring and fill with whatever you like. When you drop them into water, they’ll fizzle and dissolve. Make a couple of bath bombs, shape them into eggs, and stuff them with tiny dinosaurs (or other tiny animals, such as birds, lizards, etc). Give them to your kids to play with in the bath and they’ll delight at how amazing chemistry can be!
5. Create a water maze for the bath tub with PVC pipes.
Grab some PVC pipes from the nearest hardware store and a pile of suction cups. Attach the suction cups to the pipes with a little bit of drilling and let your kids arrange the pipes on the bath tub walls to create elaborate water falls and water mazes!
6. Freeze bath toys for your kids to melt in the bath.
This bath time activity is pretty simple but younger kids will find it fun and it will keep their attention for a while! Freeze a bunch of bath toys together in a container and then pop it out in the bath water. Your kids will have to move it around and hack away at the ice to get the toys out! Make several frozen toy bunches for more fun time in the bath tub.
7. Indulge in colored (and scented) baths.
A scented bath is something you would love, but your kids will love them as much, too, as long as you make it even more fun with the addition of brightly colored water! Try to match the scents with the colors, like blue bath water with a peppermint scent! You can even include flavor, such as with strawberry flavoring!
8. Make and play with toy soaps.
Depending on the ages of your kids, you could allow them to make their own colorful soaps with bath toys in them or let them help you with a few steps. Then when it’s bath time, they’ll enjoy cleaning themselves with these fun soaps.
9. Explore with water balloons.
A small balloon filled with water is a lot of fun for kids to play with — it’s slimy, soft, twistable, and feels nice to squeeze and pull. Fill up a pile of balloons with water and throw them in the bath tub with your kids and allow them to just explore! If a water balloons breaks, no big deal, everybody’s already wet.
